From Book To “Living Document”: Using AI To Engage, Capture, And Convert Readers
Breaking Free From Amazon Limitations
We have a training that is going to blow you folks away. If you want to see this, see the slides and what he’s demoing, I encourage you to go over to our YouTube channel. It’s Superbrand Publishing. You folks are going to really learn a lot today about this. Our guest is Domingo Silvas. He is the CEO and Co-founder of Praxis AI. His mission is to create a calm, credible environment where serious thinkers can deeply engage with ideas, refine their thinking, and move from insight to meaningful action supported by intelligent and responsible AI.
If you folks have been watching the news lately, AI has not been responsible. It’s now breaking into things. Hopefully, Domingo’s job will not do that. Praxis aims to become one of the most trusted digital spaces for long-term thought. A living library where human wisdom and AI collaborate to expand understanding, preserve intellectual rigor, and support lifelong learning. Welcome, Domingo.
Folks, the reason I’m so excited about this, and I will admit, I’m one of this founding people on this, is there are so many problems with Amazon. If you have been an author on Amazon, or even a publisher, and I will tell you, publishers have a lot of problems with Amazon. They do not respond. They no longer have credible customer service, which is one of the things Domingo’s platform does provide.
You also make more money over on this platform that he’s going to talk about. He’s making a serious run at competing with Amazon. You’ve got to give him kudos for that because that is a big organization. What I like about this is he has developed the ability for you to do voice prints and be able to have questions answered about your book and your voice. That is a cool tool.
The other part of this too, is that when you upload your book, he allows you to put your other links in there. If you’re someone like Desiree. Desiree has book awards, so people can go find out about the book awards. If you have products, programs, or services, you’re able to put that in there right along with your book. We know Amazon will take you down for doing that. It’s an all-encompassing platform that is going to be beneficial for authors. Did I say enough, Domingo?
That was great. I was waiting for you to do the demo.
I’m not that savvy yet. Take it away.
I’m excited to be here. Thank you for having me. I want to admit from the beginning, I became an author. It was interesting. That journey is what put all this together. What I mean by that is, this is not my book. This is a book that I’m reading, Prediction Machines. When I started writing my book, I went through the process of putting so much heart and soul into my experience of what I’ve done over the last 26 years.
Expanding Beyond Page Limits
I’m an entrepreneur that has started fourteen companies, scaled each one to 7-8 figures, had exits, and has coached hundreds of businesses to do the same. As an expert, what are you told? You got to write a book. How many of you guys have heard this? You got to put your knowledge down. I started the path of doing that. After a year of trying to put together 25-26 years of experience into a book, I got a call from the publisher and she said, “You’re at 300 pages.” I go, “Yes, but I’m not done yet.” She goes, “You’re getting close to the limit.” I started asking myself, “How do I make my book have more?”
I went through the traditional route of, you can put links in there or if you want more information, you can put QR codes. I started asking myself, “Does that make sense?” I was told about the nightmares of putting my book on Amazon. I said, “What do you mean I don’t know who bought my book? I get a check every month and I hope that they read my book, go to the link, go to the QR code and contact me.” For me, it didn’t make sense. As an innovator, specialist, business coach, technology, I started thinking outside the box. What can we do?
Now, I want to admit here. This was started in a little bit of a selfish way because I wanted something for my book. I’ve been working with technology for many years. I went back to my team and I said, “I want people to have one book. I want them to be able to get everything they need off of it.” That’s where Praxis started. What I’m going to share with you is the evolution of what has been created over the last nine months and has launched and has now put books on our platform.
We have authors on our platform. We have ways that people communicate with the book in a way that’s never been done before. All because I wanted more out of my book. It took me a year. How many of you have taken more than a year to write a book? It took me eighteen months to put 300 pages together for it to go back and make sense. In this book, I wanted people to understand how they can duplicate the success I’ve had.
I’m so passionate about what I’ve created and the methodology that I have coached, that I have taught in universities and taught to entrepreneurs that are just starting or businesses that are well-established. I was so excited about that, as many of you aren’t. If you’re a fiction or nonfiction, no matter what it is, our passion comes out in the book. I wanted everyone to be able to continue when they finish the page. When they finished this, I wanted them to have something that applied to them at that moment.
Something that they’re able to take home at that moment. If it’s something of a fantasy where they follow the character even further, or if it’s a strategy that allows them to say, “I can apply this to my business now. I just need a little bit more information on how to apply it.” I wanted the ability for them to contact me right away, and that’s why Praxis was created. My goal is to help you view what I’m going to share with you from your book perspective. I want you to think about fiction, nonfiction, or children’s books.
I want you to think about your book and how this technology was created to enhance the relationship between you and the reader. For the reader to be able to have a different understanding of why you created this and dive in deeper. As a matter of fact, create a relationship with the reader before they even contact you. That’s where Praxis comes along. I’m going to share my screen. I’m going to walk you through my book and show you some of the features that we’ve created.
Traditional book storefronts hide your reader data. It's time to build direct relationships with your audience. Share on XI want to be able to open this up because I’m all about education. I’m all about allowing everyone to ask the questions and get educated on why this was created and how we created it. The important thing I do want to share is that I believe technology is there not to duplicate, recreate, or to change anything that you have written. That doesn’t make sense to me. It’s there to enhance the experience. In other words, it’s there to represent you and make sure you’re properly represented.
We made sure that this technology stayed as secure as possible. There’s no hallucinations. It’s straight as if it came from you. Let me go ahead and demonstrate this technology. I’m going to share with you from a reader standpoint. This is my reader’s account. In this platform, it’s a marketplace, just like Amazon. All these books are in my library that I’m reading, Charles Dickens and Oliver Twist. I’ve got a few other ones in here like The Great Gatsby.
In this platform, the system will recommend books based on what I like and what I’ve been reading. I also get a chance to see all the other books from other authors on this platform. I’m able to come in here and I’m able to buy directly from here. It automatically gets added to my library so I can come in. We also strongly recommend our readers to provide a real review of every book because as they provide reviews, you rank up in our platform. It gives you a chance to get a lot more visible.
We have our bestseller platform. We have everything. You can see we have a store on our platform. They can buy it and everything. Where I want to emphasize a little bit about the books. In my library, I have my book. My book is called The Infinite Climb. The reason why it’s called The Infinite Climb is because it feels like when you’re building a business that you always have to rise above. You have to build beyond and you have to watch your business soar.
This story’s in my book. I learned a lot about entrepreneurship when I decided one day to climb Mount Fuji in Japan. Here I am climbing the mountain. As I went through the journey of climbing the mountain, I represent it from a standpoint of all the obstacles and issues that I had climbing the mountain that represented my journey as an entrepreneur. The doubt that you have in your mind that you can accomplish it. The people walking and going faster because they’re in better shape or they look at you that you don’t belong here. All those obstacles. That’s where the Infinite Climb came from and the passion behind it and I represent it on my entrepreneur journey.
As we come into the platform, it’s a traditional digital reader. My book is translated. It’s here so people can come through. Some of the traditional tools are here. There may be something in this book that I want to highlight. I’m able to come in here and I’m able to highlight this feature so that I can come back and be able to read that specific path or that paragraph. I can come here and take this and make a note of it. You have an online journal as you go through everything that you highlight in this book, and you’re able to export it.
I wanted people to read my book, take all the powerful information that meant something for them, because there’s one thing I learned as an author. No two people have the same journey through my book. They all have different questions. One statement means more to another person. We personalize this as much as possible. I’m able to come in here. If there’s ever a chance where I’m reading the book and I remember, “He said here that nobody summits Everest alone. At a certain elevation, the climb becomes impossible without people you trust completely.”
Personalizing Reader Engagement
I’m able to read a certain part of this and go back to that part of the book that has that. That way, I can go back and reference that point. These are some of the functions that we put into this, but I wanted more. As I said, I was a little bit selfish in the beginning. I started thinking of all the tools that I wanted. What I did is I wanted people to be able to take a look at this and dive in deeper. What does he mean by this? We added a companion that takes this component, goes in and tells me what that purpose was, why I created it.
It represents a roadmap and companion for entrepreneurship who want to build, scale and improve a business. I’m able to use the companion to give me a better understanding of what I meant by this paragraph. You can even ask the companion specific questions like, “How does this relate to me building a team?” In this chapter, I talk about the team. Together, everyone achieves mastery, is what that stands for me. It gives everybody a chance to come over to the chat and ask specific questions specifically about what this section means.
You can even go and ask questions like, “I’m building a team. This is what I have. What can I do to improve this?” The companion comes back based on my work and gives them a better understanding of what can be done and how they can do it so it’s more personalized to them. Now, there is information in this that’s outside the book. I’ll share with you how I added it. I added a feature. I said, “We live in today’s world where I want to talk about my book.”
How this came around is I was speaking on stage in 2025. I held up a book and I said, “What would you guys like to do with this?” They said, “I would love to talk about the book.” I said, “I’ll make that happen.” We added a function here that allows me to talk to the book and the book will talk back. Now, we even went further and made sure that this voice can be in the author’s voice so that if the person’s talking to the book. That way, I can either type it or talk to it and it will answer back and allow me to have a conversation.
Now, somebody can read my book about how to build a business and ask specific questions on that. Remember, I mentioned before, I couldn’t put all my knowledge and experience in this book. Three hundred pages is the most I could get into it. How am I able to answer specifically more questions about what outside the box that they could be asking? That was a big thing for me. We made it possible for every author to upload additional works. Any interviews that you’ve done. Any teachings or courses you’ve done related to this book, you can upload that work. It trains the companion to give a better answer and analysis of whatever questions are asked.
From a fantasy, you created a character and they have so much of a backstory that you didn’t put in the book. You can upload it. That way, when they ask a little bit about something like, “I want to know more about this Domingo the Slayer,” then it comes back with any additional information that was not in the book. That was important for me because I wanted so much more to be able to be portrayed. I didn’t want to write another book. I wanted that person to be immersed in what I just created.
This is a technology that allows us. For those of you that have books that have workbooks, or you want people to be able to take some of the questions. In my book, I have questions on how to do certain things as it comes through. We also added a function and it’s called a Workbook. Obviously, there’s nothing about kids in mind, so I’m demonstrating this. You’re able to have a workbook in there so that they can follow through and have answers right away and get an analysis of their answers immediately from what the book has just shared.
It gives a bigger impact. Now, this is all great. These are all tools that can enhance the relationship because one thing I know, technology is not here to replace you. It should be here to enhance you. We made sure that everything that’s provided about your book gets constrained. It doesn’t go out on the internet. It doesn’t reach the internet to come back and enhance your answers because that’s not coming from you. That’s not authentic. I wanted to make sure that the material that’s provided to everyone that reads comes from your book or any additional material you provide. It’s in your voice.

Automating Voice Audiobooks
Another thing we provided is you have an audio book. In this audio book, you provide a 30 second recording of your voice and the entire system will convert it. The entire book for you in an audiobook. This audiobook here is in my voice by providing 30 seconds. This is part of the system as well just to make sure that it’s like you reading the book to them. There’s no professional that you have to hire and go and record, or you don’t have to sit at home and record every single work. We built this AI voice to make sure that there’s attenuation and excitement and all that. It’s accurate. I’m excited about it.
This is all great. I’ve got an engagement. The reader’s reading it. They’re getting their answers. They’re getting their questions answered, but they want to get in touch with me. I wanted something as a next action to take. They can buy my course from here. I created this so that anybody can buy the AI, I created something that scales their business and teaches them along the way and works out a 90-day plan for them. I wanted them to book an appointment with me. You can designate where these links go or you could have no links in here.
Maybe you have another book that you want to drive them to on the platform or external. Anything. You control the next actions that are taken from your book. That was another thing. Not only did I want them to read my book, get engaged and ask questions. I want them to get in touch with me because I now created a relationship with them. I know they came from the book. I know what they’re asking about in the book. Now I’m ready to coach them and take them on. This is a great way for those that are having fiction and nonfiction. This is where you drive them next into a series that you want like, “Join my newsletter,” or other actions that you want to take.
There are some other features in this that are critical for each and every one of you to know, because I didn’t put everything in here. Remember, as I said, I wanted so much more from this. Not only the ability to read it day or night. Also the ability for everybody that reads my book to be able to leave comments so that the author can come back and communicate. This book’s amazing. I’m able to come in here and reply to that. Thank you, and keep the replies in the conversation going. This is a great way to get feedback on how this book made a difference in everything for that reader.
There’s some features in here that we’ve truly enhanced to be able to enhance the experience between you and the reader. Now, let me show you some other features that are not being shown here but are available to every single book out there. I’m going to share with you from the author’s standpoint. This is the back-end dashboard. This is my demo site that I use. I just wanted to give you a little bit of understanding what is available as every author on the platform.
My book, The Infinite Climb, as you come in here, this is where you’re able to add the supporting material. You can take the PDFs or the voice transcripts or anything that you didn’t put into the book that you wanted to put in the book. This is where you can put that supporting material. The AI analyzes it and makes sure it gives the reader a better answer. You can upload videos, testimonials, interviews, and it will say, “From an interview that Domingo had with Juliet, he talked about this strategy.” It gives some reference to where this material came from in the book or outside the book.
We’ve also made sure that every single one comes with the landing page. We wanted you to have the ability to be able to promote this. I just want to make this point. With all these tools, we wanted to make it as easy as possible so you don’t have to sit here and think, “How do I put a landing page together? What do I put on the landing page?” With 26 years of marketing experience and with all the other experience from the members of the team, we now have it where the AI will go and analyze your book. What is the best way to portray your book?
You’re able to have a landing page available and it breaks down the chapters. It talks a little bit about you. This is a demo, so I would have a picture. I would have a bio. You’re able to sell directly from this landing page. It takes less than five minutes to create on our platform. Now, why are landing pages important? It’s because this is a way for you to go out there and put this when you speak on interviews and podcasts here. It’s like, “Anybody would like my interactive book, here’s my link.” If you’re out there doing a webinar or classes, “Here’s my link to buy my interactive book.” It’s very important. I do want to state that you get to keep up to 80% of the sales price on this platform.
Converting Readers Into CRM Leads
We wanted to make sure this is your work. This is your book. You’re able to take this and automatically start selling this book everywhere. Now, this is another part that’s very critical. We built this system to be able to integrate to most CRMs out there. What happens when someone buys your book? Their email, their name, and their contact information is automatically imported into your CRM. Now you know that person. I can tell you on other platforms, they don’t even give you that information. You know who bought your book. They are added to your newsletter.
You can create an automation that gives them more information about the book. However you want to do it from that point, they are your contact. The moment they buy the book, download the book, and read the book. You already know who they are. Now, it was important for us for you not just to know who they are but also to know what they’re doing with the book. One thing we added was analytics into the book. You can see how every reader, how much time they spend on the book, how many active readers you have, and how many pages they visited.
You can see how many have completed and how many never started. You can see any information we thought was very important for you to be able to have like how many chapters are being read. Any highlights or insights that the readers resonate with. We try to provide you as much information as possible so you know how your book is impacting all the readers. These statistics, all these analysis are given per book for every single book on our platform. There’s more.
I want to share with you a couple more features because I want you to understand the power behind the technology that was created to be able to take your book to the world. We added a couple more things because of our founding authors. Initially, when we launched, we brought on founding authors, of which Juliet is one of our first founding authors. We got a lot of feedback from our authors of how we can enhance the experience. One of those, which is our author’s favorite component, is called Easter Eggs.
Embedding Interactive Video Moments
This one’s pretty cool. I’ve seen a lot of authors use it. Easter Eggs are a video that you can record up to three minutes that you’re able to put into the book at any chapter. You can put it at the very beginning. Where before they even start your book, you can say, “My name is Domingo. I’m so excited you’re about to dive into this book. I want to make sure that you use all the tools available. Ask the questions. If you have any questions, by all means, make sure that you connect with me by using one of the links inside the book. Enjoy the book.”
Now, what happens if they get to the part where I talk about preparing the climb and talk about Mount Fuji? There was something in there that I didn’t put in there. I can upload a book and say, “I know at the end of this chapter you read about Mount Fuji. Let me tell you a little story about what happened.” Throughout the book, you’re able to have a video pop up. To get that better engagement with them to be able to bring it closer for them to know who you are, see you, hear you, and have you so excited about sharing something special about a character that you introduced to them or this scene that just happened.
This is a very big tool that a lot of our authors use and they love it because it pops up. You can put one in here like, “This is an Easter Egg. Anybody who sees this video, if you go to this link, you can download something special.” You can use it and be creative however you like, or you don’t have to use it but it’s available for you. There’s a lot of other features in here that I love. There’s two more that I want to share with you, translation. It was so important to be able to use technology in a way that has never been done before.
Your readers have unique questions. Give them custom answers directly inside your manuscript. Share on XScaling To Global Audiences
Every single book on our platform is now translatable into six additional languages such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Chinese. Not only is the book translated with 96% to 97% accuracy. I don’t know Chinese, so we do the best we can on that one but also the audio. For those of you that always wanted to speak Portuguese, guess what? You now speak Portuguese. The audio is translated into Portuguese. The book is translated into Portuguese. The AI companion talks to them in Portuguese.
We now have every single landing page converted into that language as well. We did it to a point where if they go and click on the landing page and the system recognizes that they’re in Portugal. It will automatically translate it to the Portugal landing page for you. They can go ahead and purchase and get engaged with your book. Now, we go to world one. We’re adding fourteen additional more languages in the next couple months. This opens it up. Name one other platform that does that for you.
One of my favorite books was by Thomas Friedman. The book is called The World is Flat. That opened my eyes when he wrote it back in 2003. If you have not read that book, it’s an amazing book. He talks about how technology has flattened the world where you can reach anyone at any time throughout the world. We wanted to make sure we encompass that into the technology. Multiple languages now for your book to be able to go out and get more readers.
There’s one other bit that I’ll throw in here, and I know I’ve thrown a lot already, but this part is important. With 26 years of marketing, I know so many of us are just saying, “How do I market this book?” I can tell you, all of you are blessed to have Juliet as a coach. Before we had this conversation, she was telling me everything that she’s offering, be it fiction, nonfiction, which is incredible. It’s definitely valuable because for you to write a book and not be seen and dependent on an organization or you’d be one of millions of books and not know who bought it is very difficult.
You have to be prepared. What we’ve done is to enhance your ability to be seen a little bit more. We created a marketing system that allows you to generate graphics and videos for your book. These are demos. You’ll put your book in there. You can say, “I want somebody reading my book next to a fire.” It will create a video. You’re able to download it and upload it on social media so that you can gain some attention out there.
We started thinking about some other assets that you wanted. If you want to write something about your book on TikTok or Instagram, we provide you everything you need to cut and paste the image into Instagram, post it, and now you’re social influencers. All in one system. There is a lot here I just shared with you, but my goal with you is to help you understand that technology is here to help you.
Technology is here to help you be seen. It doesn’t replace the words that you put on the book. It doesn’t replace the journey you just took your reader through. The goal here is to enhance it, to make sure that the relationship between you and the reader is tightened together. We’ve enjoyed the journey so far with all of our authors that have joined the platform that have tested this and put this out there and made sure that they held us accountable. That’s where our founding authors came and it was important for us to do.
Since the holidays are coming up and there’s one more thing for those of you that like to maybe read your book or maybe go live with it. We added a live feature where anybody who downloads our app, which, by the way, is on Google App Store and the Apple Store. There’s an app for this now for all the readers, which is free to the readers to download. We give them their first book for free on the platform. Every function I shared with you from a reader standpoint can be done with the app.
We want to have the ability, and anybody who’s following you as a fan on our platform, for you to go live and do a book reading. Maybe even talk about an upcoming book so you can pre-sell the book that’s coming up. It’s time for you to be seen. For those of you that don’t want to be seen, you can have somebody do it for you. We had one author that had one of their readers read their book. You can decide what you want to do. The idea behind it’s for you to have the ability to do whatever you like, to become seen anywhere around the world, and use technology to enhance the relationship between you and the reader.
For you to always know who they are, what they’re doing, and how you can better your book or experience that you give them. This is what Praxis is all about. I’ve shared a lot. I just want to share that a lot of this doesn’t require you to be tech savvy. We simplified the process to where you can do a couple buttons and click. Some books take less than an hour to go live on the platform. It’s exciting to be able to show you where technology is going.
There’s some other features that are up and coming, but I’m going to keep those quiet and keep everybody in suspense because I can’t share everything with you. This is what we’ve done over the last few months with our platform. I would love to open this up, Juliet, for any questions because this was a lot already.
Thank you. I will tell you. I’m tech savvy. It took me about ten minutes to get everything up. I’m a whiner about it, too. I complained to him a lot about it. Any questions about that?
I have a couple of questions. Is the technology there to do like journals in kids books?
We are working on launching our Praxis Kids, which will have their own app. We’re working to make sure that they only have access to the kids’ books. We built an engine that we’re testing. Most children’s books have very few words, but it has a graphic. We are testing an AI system that will animate every single graphic. It animates them and engages them a little bit more and we’ve been testing it. We’re excited about it. We’re not that far away from launching that for Praxis Kids. The second part in the journal, yes.
What we found is that every type of book works. If it’s big books, small books, 100 pages, 10 books, 10 pages, it works on our platform. We have all types of authors on our platform. Juliet has experienced this. What happens is, if there’s a feature or something that we need to work on to enhance the ability for you to have that type of book on, we build it. You represent one of many who have journals or you represent many that have children’s books. We’re constantly enhancing the system to make sure that the experience is there.

Great. Thank you.
I was wondering. As you said that you had your book, it was 300 pages. Did you download or upload it? Did the whole book onto your platform?
My book came out to a little bit over 300 pages. I took the EPUB file. We also built a converter because sometimes some of the older books either came from a doc file or PDF or they have a mobi file. We didn’t know this. We learned this along the way. I just found out about a mobi file. We built a converter that takes it from the mobi file to an EPUB file and then we upload it.
It takes roughly about ten minutes for the platform to learn everything about your book. It puts it together. You upload your voice for 30 seconds, it automatically creates the audio file for the book. You click on the landing page. It creates the landing page for you, puts the price and then you’re up and running.
Do you do paper paperback and that thing yet or everything’s an eBook?
For now everything is in eBook. We are in negotiations with a print on demand shop to integrate with our platform. I would love nothing more than to be able to sell the digital version and the physical. These tools are not available on the physical book. If I did that, we would be a trillion-dollar company but we do want to have the ability for them to be able to buy the digital and the physical.
We are working on that. We have the integration for it. We just got to negotiate with the print on demand. My goal is to make it as seamless as possible and for you, the author, to make the money. There’s a lot of print on demand companies that are gouging the prices and are not doing right by you. We won’t let anybody on our platform that doesn’t put you first.
You said that 80% of the price of the book or whatever goes back to the author?
That’s right. You have a tracker that’s live for every sale that happens. The reason why I say up to 80%, I do need to explain this. If now Google is allowing us for them not to charge their 15%, if anybody buys it on the app. Every time you purchase something, Apple and Google would take 15%. Google has approved us not to take the 15%, but Apple is requesting the 15%. We’re trying to move around with that.
That’s why if they buy from the app, it might be 15% less because they take their piece. If they buy it from the landing page, you get up to 80%. That’s why we’re using the words up to. Apple did approve us to move away from the 15% initially, then they came back. We’re trying to fight on your behalf for you to get as much as possible.
I’m going to ask a question on Dorothy’s behalf here. What about cookbooks? She has cookbooks. Never ask a question you don’t know the answer to.
I would love a cookbook on here because that’s where the Easter Egg comes out. For example, you can upload a video showing before and after of what you created. Now, not only does it have the recipe. You can say, “I’m getting started and here’s what the end result looks like,” and ask for engagement in the chapter. It provides a way to engage with them. I would love to think of other features. If you think about it with our note section, they can take the recipe. Move it over to the note. Download and export and have it. There’s a lot of things that can happen with a cookbook. I like that one.
I don’t cook that well, but a lot of times, I’ll modify a recipe. You could do that over in the notes as well. You add extra spices.
I like that idea.
I have a different skill set. John Jesse had a question. He asks, “Do you publish existing audio books?”
Stop guessing who bought your book. Capture reader emails automatically with every single purchase. Share on XYes. We wanted the ability for you to be able to generate an audio book because we have members of our staff that specialize in AI voices and we’ve done many upgrades. We also have some authors that have professionally had their recordings. You can upload that as well. It’s your book. We wanted to have that ability. We do have a couple authors on our platform that provided us the audio and we take care of that for them.
I do want to mention a caveat here. Make sure that you check your contract with your audiobook publisher because we ran into some problems with AMPlify that there’s an audiobook company in Arizona that limits where you can publish your book. The people did not read their contract prior and didn’t know that they couldn’t put it someplace. John, check your contract. I think you’re working with AMPlify, if I remember correctly, and their contract will let you.
One more question I wanted to ask about courses. Do you do anything with courses? Say it’s a canning course or a course about teaching things. It’s got videos and different things in it.
I’ll have to admit here. As you can imagine, I started several companies because I have a shiny object syndrome. I’d be like, “Add this feature.” As you can see, all the features on this platform are because I’m like, “That sounds great.” When you say cookbook, I’m like, “What can we do? How about we show the cooking video?” I started thinking of ways to enhance it, then I had to tell myself stop.
When it came to courses, I was like, “We can put a course creator in here and have the book translate and create courses,” but then I said, “That’s something we’ll add on a little bit later.” We did allow the feature where you can point them. You can put up a video. In Easter Egg videos like, “If you love my book, you’ll love my course. Click on the link and I’ll take you to it.”
We have that available. Eventually you’re going to see there’s a couple other features I did not talk about that are coming out in the next couple months, like for anthology books. We have built the very first anthology book system where every author gets their chapter in their own account with their own voice. It’s live. I haven’t launched it yet because I’m the shiny syndrome. I’m like, “What else can I add to this?” Dorothy, don’t give me more because I’ll just keep building it. That’s what I’m afraid of. The next thing you know, this thing will be like, “In 50,000 clicks, you can have your book up and running.”
I’m so happy to hear that because Desiree, you probably would agree with this. The only people that make money off anthologies are the people who produce them. That’s it. I love that you’re able to allow them to market their own pieces of it.
That, to me, was important because so many of us are part of anthology books. I don’t know how you guys feel about this, but my chapter is the best one in it. I want to tell people, “Listen to my chapter,” but they have to go through the whole book to get to it. Now you have sent them to the landing page or sent them the link to the landing page and they can go there and learn about you. You can add more material that wasn’t put in that chapter. Isn’t that crazy? We built the platform for it. It’s part of Praxis.
That’s great. Any other questions, folks?
I’m wondering. Do you format the book as well? If I was going to put it into the paperback part, do you do the same thing as what Amazon does now? They’ll format the book and that thing as well.
The system automatically knows we built it to where it knows the format of the book. One thing I didn’t show you is you do have a book editor included in the platform. What I mean by that, and this is something that came up. Juliet, I hope you like this. Some books were written 10 or 5 years ago.
The links are no longer valid in it. The QR codes are no longer good. There’s a lot of information in there that you don’t want out there or you want to replace and make an update. Once you upload into our system, you can go in there and delete pages. You can delete QR codes, URLs, click save, then you have now an updated book in our platform. You don’t have to go back and re-edit. We have that in there. We built that.
Dorothy, are you talking about Amazon where you can take a Word doc and they’ll format it, but they do a horrible job of it? Is that what you’re talking about? You’re publishing your book there. They do. Don’t laugh. If you’ve ever used that, they do a horrendous job of formatting your book. Gears will do that or won’t do that, Domingo?
We take Word documents and PDF documents and turn them into EPUBs. The system we built takes a look at the structure and tries to determine what’s a chapter, what’s a subheading, and converts it into a book format. We do have that system. I do want to say from a PDF to an EPUB, it’s like 90% accurate. From a doc file to an EPUB, it’s 95% accurate. If you upload EPUB onto our system, it’s up to like 98% accuracy. There’s still some editing that needs to happen.
I want to make something very clear. We’re not a publisher. If you send me your PDF or a document, I’m not Juliet. Juliet knows how a book needs to be. I barely got my one book. I’m the guy who said, “Give me the technology that makes it easier,” but I don’t replace publishers. We work with publishers. We can take your book and make it more visible for you to have more control. We’re launching and bringing on more readers every day. Once we bring on readers, they’re looking for your book. Our goal is to get you seen. Our goal is to increase the relationship between you and readers. It’s not to publish a book. We work with publishers like Juliet to do that.

On the reader side of things, you’re growing your readership. What’s that looking like? How are you reaching those readers? How are you converting those readers? They’re stubborn and they want to stay on Amazon and stay doing the same old thing. What’s that rate and retention? Throw a few numbers at me if you don’t mind.
I can share with you. I learned a lot about readers when I went and we had a booth in BookCon in New York earlier in 2026. There’s so many readers that are disappointed with Amazon because that’s the only place they can go. It’s very difficult to find the book. It’s very difficult to find the author. They were so frustrated that when we showed them our platform, they signed up immediately. It’s because we customized their journey on our platform based on what they want, what they’re looking for, and what they’re reading. Which is why we created the app.
Now, on the app, what we do is we give them their first book free. What happens there is that they get engaged and we’re finding that engagement happening. Since we constantly update the app, I’ll tell you. On the Apple app, we’re on version 34 because we’re constantly updating it to make sure it has everything that the reader needs. We’re finding the engagement to be there. We’re finding the excitement and the way that they’re engaging with the book, there’s no other platform that does everything we do. We find the retention there.
Are you measuring that engagement? Are you measuring the time spent reading, time spent on the app? Do you have metrics like that?
We have that, but we also provide that to you. In other words, every single book. I share it with you per book, but we also have an analytics chart that gives you analysis on all your books and how many readers on the app have downloaded your book. You know everything. Everything’s at your fingertips. We wanted to make sure that you had control of everything. This is your book.
Domingo, Desiree is a marketer like me. From a selling standpoint, as someone who might potentially want to sell your product. Do you have retention stats that she can look at? That’s why she’s trying to figure it out.
We can always set up a time to talk. I’m sorry. I was thinking from an author standpoint, so I apologize.
That’s okay. I was just curious. Maybe we set up a time to chat.
Yes. Anybody who’s interested in learning more about the platform, we do have a link to be able to set up an appointment, and talk to somebody in our team to see how your book may fit into the platform and how it can work. We do personalize onboarding. That’s a special that we offer for Juliet and her team.
Anybody who comes on board with us, we provide that personalized onboarding so that you’re never left alone. Also, I’m a strong believer that there are certain things AI can do, but a person’s better. We have office hours. There’s office hours in our back office where you can go live with one of our support people and they can take care of your problems right then and there. We are trying to make a difference in today’s world for all authors.
You’re not getting that on Amazon. They don’t even have a phone number anymore.
Here’s another marketer/product manager. How do you make money on it? What’s your share?
There is a fee for the authors to come on the platform, then we do the 20% share on the book sales. That’s how we make it. Our job is to do what we do. Praxis has its own media buying team. It has everything that we do for marketing. I’ve been in marketing for many years. I’ve represented some big brands. We’re doing everything from SEO, AEO, and AGO. Every book is searchable by Google. We’re in negotiations with Google to add every single book into the Google store using your link. We’re constantly out there talking to TikTok. We’re doing all that. Our job is to market the platform. This is why authors are important, because I can market the platform, but if there is no books on there, it doesn’t work.
Do you have any suggestions regarding pricing? Do you suggest we use the normal list price of the book on your platform or offer at a discount?
What I’ve found, because our platform offers so much more. A lot of our authors are seeing a different price they would put on Amazon. On Amazon, you’re competing with another digital book. In our platform, it’s very interactive and you provide more. If you think about it. It’s interactive. You’re giving them engagement. We’re finding the sales price above twenty to be working. One thing we’re building into the platform that’s not live yet is the ability to provide flash sales, like a flash coupon or flash system.
Expand your message globally. Translate your entire book and audio into multiple languages automatically. Share on XI’m thinking of everything about the holidays like Cyber Saturday, or Cyber Monday. It’s all ready. That’s why live is something that’s cool. We’re adding into where you can go live and you can attach your Facebook feed and LinkedIn. We want you to be able to get out there and get the book to be seen.
Thank you.
Great questions. I love this group.
I was talking to Domingo before, and we have some new fiction packages. Every single one of them gets an entry into Desiree’s Book Fest. Consider too what you’re doing and get into the Book Fest awards, too, because that third-party validation is a huge help. I’m going to be working with Domingo to get packages out where authors know about that as well. That’s a big hit. Desiree, I’m going behind your back.
I love it. Thank you.
How often are you going to have Arabic because we have that Arabic client with the Arabic book?
It’s ready by the end of August. Arabic will be there as well. That’s part of the other fourteen languages that we’re putting together, like Japanese and a few other ones that are out there. I do want to share this. I think this is important. If I can leave it with this, it’d be great. We do not replace the words in your book. We don’t replace your voice. We create your voice to read the book, but we don’t replace your voice. We don’t replace what you’ve created. That’s yours. Everything that you put on our platform is owned by you.
We’re a marketing platform that will be able to get you more visibility and more engagement. We made sure that we locked everything. It doesn’t go out searching the internet for answers. It stays within the contents of what you provide. The more information you provide, the better the experience the reader has. We wanted to make sure the integrity was always held inside the platform. I welcome all of you to come on board as a founding author on our platform as we continue growing for you to get more visibility and be seen. For any publishers that are out there, we partner with publishers to create packages as well. Thank you, Juliet, for allowing me to be a part and share this.
You’re welcome. Thank you, folks for showing up as well. The next training is with Tracy Hazzard, who is on this call as well. She’s going to be doing our training next. I don’t have it handy, but I’m sure it’s good. That will be on September 11th, 2026. You folks will get materials for that as well. Thank you.
Thank you, everyone.
